A pps file is a PowerPoint Slidshow file. This file is just like a ppt file. It is a series of slides that make for a presentation. This should open in Microsoft PowerPoint, a component of Microsoft Office. If you are unable to open the file make sure that you have powerpoint installled. If you don’t Microsoft offers a free tool here to allow you to view presentations on a computer that does not have a full version of powerpoint installed.  You might also check out open office as a free option in place of the Microsoft Office Suite HERE.  Open Office will be able to handle that file type as well.
